2024 Board of Directors candidate
Coco Wood Lakes
Delray Beach, FL
As a serial entrepreneur from an early age, I founded, owned and operated dozens of different companies, developing skills and knowledge in many diverse fields such as technology, real estate, construction, finance and law.
Some notable career highlights included founding and operating several different computer hardware and software companies in New York and Philadelphia. I also invented a consumer electronics product that is still sold 30 years later. And, after entering the residential real estate business in Baltimore, I established a licensed, general contracting firm that focused on rental-to-condo conversions in Northern New Jersey.
I see it as vitally important that our community’s leadership continues evolve and grow with a focus on owner input and board transparency. Because of my strong belief in community participation, I introduced Coco Wood Lakes' first major survey in recent memory, where over 40% of the community helped determine CWL’s technology future needs. The results of this survey and the community's preferences were used to help select a new vendor and choose services.
As a Board member, my guiding principles will always be:
I believe that Board of Directors' responsibilities include:
Many of you know me from my monthly committee reports at board meetings. As chairperson of the Bulk Media Technology Committee (BMTC), I created, organized and directed the BMTC through 8 months and hundreds of hours of meetings and presentations, successfully delivering over a $4 million network infrastructure upgrade contract, the largest and most significant project in Coco Wood Lakes' history. This contract will not only add over $200,000 into Coco Wood Lakes bank accounts but will save Coco Wood Lakes homeowners an additional $1.8 million collectively over the 11-year contract term. At at the same time, the new, state-of-the art optical fiber data network will be significantly more reliable, and capable of speeds hundreds of times faster than the decades-old, dilapidated copper co-ax wire system currently in place.
I also have prior experience as a board member at a large, luxury hi-rise condominium apartment building in Northern New Jersey. My most successful project there included a difficult and complicated energy efficiency capital improvement project that still saves well over $200,000 each year for that building.
I also serve on the Board of Directors of a multi-million dollar Palm Beach County non-profit community health clinic that provides medical & dental services to underserved and uninsured populations of south Florida.
I am an active Pickleball player, previously having played other recreational sports such as paddleball, squash, tennis and racquetball. Ready to play backgammon or cards anytime as well! I also spent many years training and competing in ballroom & Latin dance competitive dance throughout the country.
I have called over thirty places home, including Milan (Italy), New York City, three different counties in Northern New Jersey, downtown Philadelphia and its suburbs, Baltimore Maryland, Dallas Texas, Stanford California, and, of course, Florida ... first in Coconut Creek, then Boca Raton and now, of course, Delray Beach.
